Clearly inspired by the old 'War That Time Forgot' comic...just thought I'd mention this since it looks like fun...

It is based on a book series, but yes, that series clearly took inspiration from the old DC comic. I've been looking forward to this for a while. But it only released in very expensive "Fathom Events" showings in the US, over the past weekend, so I'm going to continue to look forward to it until they release digitally.

Yes, I'd stumbled across the existence of the novels but I agree, there's a clear influence from TWTTF.

I'll be waiting for the Blu-Ray, as usual, but this is definitely one I'll be buying.

Wonder if we've still got the "War That Time Forgot" omnibus edition at our library? I remember being disappointed that it was just a bunch of miscellaneous high-concept stories, with no recurring characters or story line. On the other hand, the sheer Silver Age nuttiness of it had a real charm.

Looks fun. I'll drive Simon to pick up the Blu-ray.

I bought that black and white paperback edition they came out with some time ago. I also thought it would be kind of like Sgt Rock, where you have a regular cast of characters dealing with war and dinosaurs together. Sadly, not the case at all. I finished it, but it didn't really hit for me.

Oh well, there's always the two-part Fantastic Four story from the 1990s (Walt Simonson, IIRC) where they found themselves stranded in the dinosaur age with a team of time-displaced U.S. troops (They had performed a parachute jump, and came down WAY farther away from their objective than expected). One of the few 1990s superhero stories I actually loved.
