Does it bug anybody else that these numbers only tell the tale of comics shipped through Diamond Comic Distributors and only to the direct market retailers. Why does every news source keep pretending that these are authoritative numbers? (This is just one of my pet peeves and probably of no interest to anybody else.)

Interesting...

Claremont has 3 books in the top 20 (Im enjoying the END Xmen comic) - unlike some of his contemporaries he still tops the chart (or is it just the X that sells?).

Ultimate SPidey is as strong as ever while Millars Spiderman book drops a bit yet again...his take on Spidey is oen Im not too fond of...I think he is better suited to Wolverine and sales will jump on that title once he and JRJR get on board.

Nice to see Ellis Marvel work in the top twenty...i love his stuff and im glad to see he is getting more recognition in the mainstream.

Superman and Identity Crisis are still very strong and I predict that will last until they end their runs...hopefully these strong sales mean we will see more work from Meltzer...maybe a run on Batman would be cool.

It's pretty much just the X that sells. And if that doesn't work,
just stick the word "Ultimate" before the title.

Dunno. Has he ever sold a book that didn't have an X in it? :?:

Sovereign Seven started out well, but lost steam quickly and it was cancelled after about three years. I can't think of many other books that he's done in the past 25 years that weren't X-related. How long did he write FANTASTIC FOUR?

Too long?

Sorry. Just over 2 years if memory serves.

It was three years - thirty six issues - and ended with the same words it opened with. It definitely read to me like something that was designed with a beginning and an end, unlike my Condo buying X-stuff ( ) that had a crap load of stuff meant to be never referenced again...

I'm kind of surprised X-Men: The End is doing so well.

Nice to see Mike Carey in the top 20.

I think the most interesting title to watch might be X-Force. Are there really that many closet Liefeld fans?

There's my answer then. It's not just the X

(It was actually an honest question, I quite like his work, I've just not seen him on anything not-X)
