Warner Brothers has signed an exclusive three-year first-look deal with Steve Carell to act and even produce projects that come his way. While this Get Smart sequel isn't part of the deal, the same announcement today on Variety included a mention that "the studio is mobilizing a sequel for Carell to return as Maxwell Smart." While it wasn't the world's best movie or even the best remake of a TV show, I found myself enjoying this one on DVD. Hope any sequel is, if not better, at least as entertaining...

I was very happy with how the movie turned out, and I had been ready to dislike it and pick it apart in the classic Comicland tradition. It gets better with multiple viewings too, which is a treat.

In the roles that I have seen her in, she seems a nice enough gal who can be quite funny if given the chance. However, at her size, she's probably destined to appear as punchline to many jokes, as she was here, although well done. As to what she looks like, she's definitely my type.

Underwhelmed when I first saw it. His Maxwell Smart was too competent and Hathaway is hot (until recently when she lost too much weight). When she speaks in real life she pisses me off.

In the series he was virtually an idiot who everyone thought was a superspy, while in the movie he's actually a very good agent who no one believes is as good as he is. I thought it was a good twist, but I can understand why fans of the show might not have liked it.
