Jack Kirby gave Marvel two lost races for fans to find.

Inhumans. The Eternals are just copies of the Greek gods. I think they were originally not meant to be in the MU and were supposed to be the inspiration for the Greek gods, but somebody put them in the MU where the Greek gods already exist.

I like the concept of the Eternals more, but the Inhumans are the cooler individual characters and team.

The Eternals are indeed an interesting concept that never seems to have quite been done justice.

So far the poll looks like the Inhumans winning by an avalanche.

This is a hard one... I love Black Bolt, but then, I also love Karkas:

Black Bolt is possibly my favorite costume design.

Eternals. They've got that whole Celestials and Von Daniken thing going on.

Also, Lockjaw. There are few things more awesome than a giant teleporting bulldog.

Pluses for the Eternals:

• Ikaris - killer costume. Probably Kirby's last great visual character.

• Sersi - sexy and confident.

• The Eternals have generally been kept out of the Marvel Universe proper. This is a BIG plus for me because I prefer series that are self-contained.

Minuses for Inhumans:

• Attilan limits their stories, but when they are not in Attilan they have little purpose or direction. They really don't work as super-heroes/protectors of humanity, but they are too ground level for cosmic adventures. They just seem to keep fighting Maximus the Mad over and over.

• Triton doesn't work well out of water.

• Blackagar Boltagon. 'Nuff said.

Minus for the Eternals: the series written by Neil Gaiman.

Also, Blackagar Boltagon was Mark Gruenwald's idea, iinm.

I cannot choose. I think they are both awesome, some of the most interesting and strange characters in the Marvel Universe.

Blackbolt is an amazing, mysterious character with incredible costume design and powers. The "silent king" idea seems epic and almost shakespearian. Lockjaw is fun and incredibly imaginative in his conception--whether you think of him as being a superpowered dog or that he was once a humanoid. Triton might be the best seafaring character in either DC or Marvel--and that includes The Submariner and Aquaman. He has a slightly "silver surfer" nobility to him, and I like that he stands apart from the rest of the royal family, an outsider among outsiders. And the stories in which the inhumans and fantastic four encounter each other are some of the best, most fun comic book stories ever.

On the other hand, The Eternals are more complex than just being surrogates for the Greek gods, and I wish that, sometime at the beginning of the Marvel Universe, THIS had been the general concept put on the table instead of the Thor universe/Hercules universe stuff. This is far more interesting. Also, the Celestials are amazing. Like Galactus on steroids.

So thank the lord we don't have to really choose.
