So what is IMWAN, anyway? What does it stand for?IMWAN stands for nothing. Or, if you prefer, IMWAN stands for everything! Our venue is built on the basic truism that
personal taste cannot be "wrong". If you dig something, that's all the reason you need to dig something, and the right to your own tastes is not up for debate here. IMWAN takes no official stance on any topic, hobby, pursuit, belief or persuasion. We ask only that you afford your fellow members the same respect for their viewpoints that you expect for your own.
But ... but ...... oh I see, you meant what does the
acronym "IMWAN" stand for! Sorry.

I'll start again.
The name IMWAN was the result of trying to come up with the most ludicrous monicker possible for a comic book forum. We decided on "
Iron
Man
With
A Nose" ~ referencing one of the more, ahh,
unusual armour builds in the Golden Avenger™'s history. But we quickly discovered that many people grew up on that version of Iron Man®, and far from considering the facemask-with-a-nose to be silly, they actually preferred that look!
So with that realisation in mind, not to mention a strong desire to avoid lawsuits

, IMWAN came to stand for ... nothing. It can stand for whatever you want it to be! Perhaps you're a formal type, and you've decided that we should be the
I Must
Wear
A Necktie forum. Okay! Or maybe you're tired of wearing all that corporate gear at work, and you decide that this is the
I Might
Walk
Around
Naked forum where you come to throw off your "power suit" and relax. That's fine too! IMWAN can mean absolutely anything you want it to mean. We're flexible that way.
Alright, I think I understand the motif here. Any "fine print" in the rules that I should be aware of before I participate? There's really only one rule of conduct at IMWAN ~ be nice to each other. Beyond that, discuss whatever you like.
Okay, cool. But what's everyone looking at in that thread over there? I don't see anything! In order to see inline images at IMWAN (that is to say, images which have been uploaded directly to our servers rather than hotlinked from elsewhere on the Internet), you need to be logged in as a member. Then you'll see
everything. (And perhaps wish you still couldn't.

)
Hey! Moderator X was mean to me, he kicked me out of Forum Y and called me a Great Big Z. I am angry about this! May I vent at IMWAN?If you really must, but you'll find that your fellow members will discourage you from doing so. Remember, we aim to be everyone's second favourite forum, so the official IMWAN position is that all other forums are superior to ours. In fact, when the day comes that new forums spring up on the Internet which are cheap ripoffs of IMWAN, those will be superior to ours too!

And besides, we hope that you'll be enjoying your playtime at IMWAN so much that you won't even feel like rehashing old, negative experiences from other venues. IMWAN is here to help you get happy, not to help you stay angry!
But what if IMWAN becomes my favourite forum, not second favourite? We're sorry, but that is against the rules! If you ever find that IMWAN has become your main venue of choice on the Internet, you'll have to make up an imaginary "favourite forum" to occasionally refer to in order to keep your IMWAN membership in good standing.

Have fun, y'all!
