i too, watch those rather interviews.......i have to be truthful and say that i was expecting much more from such a revered and seasoned new personality. the man has talked with presidents and kings and princes and emirs and many others, but he seems to softball all these interviews with rock stars and i just cannot understand why.
he completely let don felder off the hook on the split form th eagles, never even brought up why robbie robertson left the band and on what terms, spoke very little with boz scaggs about steve miller and visa-versa.
i don;t know, i just thought there would be more less and less pudding.
I don’t disagree. It’s definitely not investigative journalism. Very guest friendly. On the other hand, you do see some folks you wouldn’t get to see otherwise and like Ian with the COPD, they do tend to share some very personal information. But it’s left up to them to share.

Maybe certain topics are off-limits for some artists. As for Felder, if someone wants the details from his perspective, buy the book he wrote..

i don't know if you saw it, but felder was oddly kind to henley and frey.

Why? Do you think Felder was in the wrong?
absolutely not, but it was so 'under' played by rather.
i know the questions i would have been asking, but then again, as someone said, that may have been discussed ahead of time as no-touch territory.
i read felders book, and he calls 'the gods' everything but human beings in it. then on show he was praising them, it was so very very weird.

I don’t know, to be honest I kind of get tired of all the rumor mongering and mudslinging, so it might be nice for those guys to talk about positive stuff instead of constantly being asked for dirt. I actually got into it a bit with Albert Bouchard about it once in reference to Blue Öyster Cult. Honestly, it kind of tarnished him in my eyes.

I know what you mean. Even in the Eagles documentary, he got emotional about how he missed the guys and their friendship. Felder is a puzzling guy.

It may be a case of missing the good times and focusing on that instead of dwelling on the bad. My first thought when I watched the interview was that he was trying to be somewhat respectful to Frey's memory.

Just finished watching Ian Anderson live streaming on YouTube celebrating the 50th anniversary of Aqualung. Really an enjoyable program. He discussed every song on the album before each one was played. What an album! Great music, acoustic and electric. And lyrics about mistreatment of the homeless, organized religion, abusive schoolmasters, and overpopulation. Way ahead if its time. One of the best albums and groups of all time. Not that Ian would care, but Jethro Tull not being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a travesty.
According to this interview with Ian Anderson on the "Rock History Music" YouTube page, there's already a box set in the works for Broadsword And The Beast, to be released sometime in 2022. He says there's a lot of bonus material to be included, and Steven Wilson will be working on remixes. This is among my favorite Tull albums, and the tour was my first time seeing them, so needless to say I'm already excited for next year.

This is awesome.
One of my favorite albums by them.
I mentioned Broadsword was being done on the “A” thread.
Benefit is due later this fall.

Silent Signing lyric book has apparently been delayed (COVID and material delays) until a November 2021 release. Although, this has also given them an opportunity to add in the lyrics for the forthcoming Jethro Tull album Zealot Gene.
Ian posted on Tull's Facebook that a 50th anniversary, half-speed mastered vinyl of THICK AS A BRICK, with full fold-out newspaper, will available at the end of July via Tull's website. Taking pre-orders now. Couldn't find an AmazWan listing or link just yet.
Also - BIG NEWS - the Steven Wilson 40th anniversary CD box will be available again in October!
