The new album dropped digitally last Friday. I have listened to it once and was very impressed. I'm less impressed by the lack of information I can find about a physical product release, either CD or LP. I didn't see anything here about it. Am I missing something, or is this going to be the first MAJOR release that skips physical product release altogether?

Apparently, you can order 8 different versions of this on CD and LP, provided you cut out the middle man and get them straight from Taylor. Eh, more power to her.

Good news is that the track listing is the same on all 8 versions, but there is one track exclusive to the physical versions.

$18.05 to have this limited edition shipped. Urghh...

From what I can figure out, there will be versions available from other retailers starting August, but the variant editions are only available on her site. She's way too smart to leave that money on the table. Once she's fleeced her rabid fanbase, the general public can get the old standard edition.

The question WAN must ask, then, is Todd a rabid fan or a calm collector?

My daughter is a rabid fan with limited funds, so she ordered one of the LPs and one of the CDs. She had never ordered anything like that herself, I always get it for her. So I got a message this morning from her: "Uhm the delivery charge for the Taylor Swift stuff is $25" Then I had to explain that it costs money to ship stuff. I think she was hoping I would offer to pay, but it's time for her to spread her wings (and spend her own money!). She finally caved in. I know she would've regretted not getting at least one of the variants.

The CD is now available for pre-order at Amazon, Target, etc. target has the “meet me at the mall edition” as their exclusive.

About Taylor, a calm collector at best. I like her, likely own all her stuff, but she's no Kate Bush. I ordered one of the website versions to have the bonus track despite the shipping costs.
