More stuff I'm interested in than usual, but once I see the prices I'll likely skip them all:

THE BLACK KEYS Live At Beachland Tavern March 31, 2002
DAVID BYRNE The Complete Score From "The Catherine Wheel"
ERIC DOLPHY Musical Prophet: The Expanded 1963 New York Studio Sessions
RAMONES Pleasant Dreams (The New York Mixes) I am curious to hear Graham Gouldman's original mixes for this album, which I have always thought was under-rated. I've played it a lot!
Nuggets: Original Artyfacts From the First Psychedelic Era (1964-1968)[50th Anniversary Box]
MILES DAVIS TURNAROUND: Unreleased Rare Vinyl from On The Corner
ELTON JOHN Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only The Piano Player Interested in this for the demo versions, but it will likely be the next 2 CD deluxe edition so I'll wait on that.
THE RESIDENTS Our Finest Flowers

The two Sparks albums for me, and probably Elvis Presley and Ramones too.

Quite a few I'll be looking for, topped by Eric Carr, Garbage, and Warren Zevon.

I'm digital only these days. I only found 4 cd's, none of which I remotely want.

Anyone planning on heading out next Sat. morning? I'll (hopefully) be scarfing up some of the archival jazz releases.

There are a few things I want but I don't like to get up early and hope for the best. I'll pay a little more but order online (usually from a record store) and have it delivered.

If they make it "CD DAY" I might bother.

Yep - made my list yesterday. There are a few things that I'll take a second look at if I run into them, but those aren't the kind of things I'd make an extra run to a different store for. The Eric Carr stuff is the biggie for me. I think the Van Halen set is going to be a huge item.

My husband wants the Elvis Presley release, but I think that's going to be hard to score. I'll be looking out for the Wilco album. I also want the Sparks albums, but they are Record Store Day First releases so I know I will eventually get these.

I'll be going tomorrow. There are few things that I want. BB King, Howlin' Wolf, The Stones and UFO are on my list.

Sad Record Store Day weekend for me as it was 5 years ago this weekend that Jimbo and I traveled all the way to Athens GA to enjoy a special record hunt with our pal Bill Levenson! Stunning weather that weekend and oh so many stores not to mention all that great BBQ down there.

Miss Jimbo this weekend. :(

Nice RSD today. Got there at 6:00 a.m. and was twenty-fifth in line. Within an hour there were over 100 people in line. Well organized as usual with this place and the line moved at a nice clip. Even more so when five minutes after opening they announced the Taylor Swift release was sold out causing a swiftie exodus that cut the line by half. Waltzed in grabbed four out of the seven releases I wanted and waltzed out. Good fun all around.

If I was gonna do RSD then this album would be #1 on the list, Don’t’ Shoot Me I’m Only The Piano Player the first real album I ever bought and still have that original vinyl in a closet.

Pretty successful day. I don't do the whole get in line thing, so I've missed out on some things in the past. So be it.

I saw most everything on my list. There are two stores that have become my primaries. I did them in reverse order this year because there were two releases that are about as close to must-have as it gets for me, and if I had to go beyond them, it made more sense to go in this order.

First store, I pulled in and parked and there were a ton of coffee cups blowing around the lot. Looked like they had quite a line. One of the items that was high on my list was the live Van Halen release, which is part of the reason I hit this store first. My heart kind of sunk because I figured if they had that many people, my chances weren't high. I was wrong - they had probably around 20 copies of it. Score! I looked at and put back the Tori Amos B-sides vinyl, the Nugent (I'm conflicted on giving Ted more money, but this vault release is from my favorite album - the $35 tag made it easy to resist for now), and the Donna Summer. Also checked out the In This Moment and Lacuna Coil releases, but opted not to get them. So at stop one, I walked out with Van Halen, Elton John, Porcupine Tree, and the live Billy Joel. In and out in about 15 minutes.

Off to the second store. There, I saw (and decided against) the Stevie Nicks live album. I did not see the Garbage EP or the Warren Zevon LP. I really wanted the Garbage (I think I have all the other RSD EPs they've released). The Zevon was going to be a game-time decision. But the two items that were pretty much must-haves for me were the Eric Carr LP and CD. The CD was a limited/regional release, so I didn't have much hope for it, but I thought I'd be able to find the vinyl. The first store had five, but sold out before I got there. The second store had three crates of stuff (and they were starting to consolidate), but sure enough, in the second crate was the vinyl. Score! Walked over to the third crate - and there's the CD! Bonus!!!

Either this week or next week, I'll venture out again to other stores and try to get the Garbage (or just order it online). But I'm good with what I got.

Woke up at 11, strolled to the computer, ordered the RSD McCartney, Ringo, and Ramones.
Ate breakfast.

I think they should change the name to something like "Indie Physical Media Store Day" & include rare digital titles. I might even spend money!

But digital titles aren't physical media. What you are suggesting is chaos!!!!!

Seriously, though, what is a rare digital title? Once a digital file is out on the net, you can usually track it down forever if you know where to look.

DVD-A, CD, SACD, & blu-ray are most definitely physical media. The original point of RSD was to help indy stores. Is a store less worthy because they aren't exclusively vinyl?
