As with my photography thread, I'm creating a new artwork thread to ease some of the work on IMWAN's servers, closing off my old thread. This will continue to be a place I put up recent illustrations and colouring (when permitted by the clients), as well as other artistic odds and ends.

I'll start with a picture I did of my original character TENSHI, a character I created for a Champions game I am part of. Note that this is more of a design illustration, rather than any sort of dynamic story picture. I will be doing more illos of him as time goes by, showing more of his character (and what his human form looks like as well):

I'm really experimenting with new brush techniques, tinkering with all-digital illustration techniques, and letting some of my photography influence my drawing and painting. I'm enjoying the results.

Here's another experiment, entirely freehand painting in Photoshop.



I think that took about four hours, all told.

I'm kinda seeing this fully-painted style as the logical progression in my ever-more-minimal approach to lineart in the past year or two...and it's very satisfying.
