Liking your picture, Ian. The new armor, not as much, though.

Well, here's the finished piece.

Image

I'm extremely happy with how this turned out - I think the figure and movement came across alright, there is lots of depth to the image on the whole, and even the helicarrier came out alright.

It's hard to get used to the new armor, but your piece is fantastic. Going to sell it as a print at your next show?

Thanks - yeah, I'll probably make up a few prints for C4 in November.

I absolutely love the background! and Iron Man looks as good as he can considering the armour, I think you've made him look pretty good, I love the detailing and everything! The design is still odd, but it looks better than the photos of the actual design.

hmm.... all of the modeling on Tony was done with circular hard-edged brushes, using the paintbrush tool. No real custom ones for that.

I'll probably post a bit of a breakdown on how I do metallic effects later today.

I have to once again agree with Victoria. Looks great. And thanks for the step by step on this.

Thanks, everyone :)

I've been catching up on photography work since I completed this, and am working on an 18"x24" original pencil illustration (of most of the major Iron Man suits over the years), so I haven't posted anything new about this piece (the metal effects discussion, I mean) - I have, however, gotten prints of it made up and I really do like how it turned out on the page.

Dude, you are fantastic and that in-progress development was excellent

I'd like to see what you could do on a non-tech heavy piece, like a Conan or something organic,

Thanks :)

Well, I am trying to get a few other pieces done by the end of October, so I'll see what I can do about that.

I'll probably end up tweaking the faceplate a bit more, but I'll leave that until after the effects are dropped in.

The nose.
