I recently got a commission from a British artist Michael McElwee who specializes in drawing "TF scenes." TF stands for "transformation." I got the Manic to draw a scene from Tales To Astonish #99 where the Hulk was fighting the Lightning Lord. LL befriended the Hulk and convinced him to attack Gamma Base. Betty talked the Hulk out of it, and the Hulk switched sides. LL attacked the Hulk, and ol' Jade Jaws reverted to Banner. The bad guys got away and Lightning Lord is ready to use the missiles he stole from Gamma Base to launch an attack on the U.S. Banner argues that the Hulk can still stop Lightning Lord and surprisingly, General Ross agrees. They use Banner's gamma ray machine to change him into the Hulk, and he leaps away to smash the Lightning Lord.
In this version, it's not Banner who is the Hulk, but Betty Ross. I thought that if I left Glen Talbot the way he was, he'd have a reason to be soft on Betty, as would Banner and her father. SOMEBODY had to be tough, so I pulled an Ed Wood and turned Glen to Glenda. (PULL THE STRINGS!!! PULL THE STRINGS!!!). Since Betty said nothing in the original sequence, I conveniently had Banner injured to put him out the way. (This would also give motivation to Betty's alter ego.)
Anyway, without further ado...

P.S. If it seems wrong to you that Betty is a brunette like Jen Walters, read the original comic. In this issue, Betty's hair IS brown.
