With the 2012 baseball season starting, I was looking around for an appropriate baseball image to wear as an avatar. I stumbled upon this, which was the official MLB logo used throughout the 1960s (before being replaced in 1969 by the one that's still in use today):

The asymmetric design, garish colours and whimsical hand-lettering (placed off-centre, yet) clearly date this logo as from the pre-computer graphics era.

Somebody was paid a lot of money by MLB to design the above. Fifty years of technological progress have enabled a crayoner like me to attempt to improve it.
Now, I'm no Judge WAN, but about five minutes of photoshopping the old logo resulted in this avatar, which is much more pleasing to my eyes:
