I have good news. The book on the old Trademark Of Quality bootleg label is now definitely back on. The general timeline is that it is going to come out at some point next year. A promo teaser for the book will appear soon at either YouTube, Vimeo or both. I have been named the head research person for the project. If any of you wish to help out with information and/or photos of original TMQ recordings, you will be credited in the book. Please remember that we are concentrating on original TMQ releases and not on the ones that were later copied by his ex-partner. This book is being painstakingly researched. My friend and I are aiming to make this book worthy of the fanatical detail-oriented collectors rather than just casual readers. It is going to be a very special project. There will be a lot of detail going into the whole thing. For starters, I do need help with a Leon Russell title that my friend did that we are having hard time nailing down details for. It is titled Session. In looking around online, there's a date that says June 6, 1972. Is this the date of the session? Is this the date of when TMQ released the album? Was Session a live broadcast or is it actually from unreleased studio sessions? If you also have information on the catalog number for the album and any run-out groove inscriptions on both sides, my friend and I would like to know. This is one of the titles where we are both having a hell of time trying to track down information. If you wish to help out, please PM me through the message system here at IMWAN. My friend and I think we are going to impress people when this thing comes out. We are aiming high. We are covering everything when the original TMQ existed.

I am happy to report that it appears that the hurdles that needed to be cleared have been cleared. I am now starting the process of doing research. I will call out for help for any of you who own original vinyl copies of Trademark Of Quality LPs. I can be reached at Taylor6974@gmail.com . Please only use this for when I need to find information about certain titles rather than for casual e-mail chats. The first title that I need help getting information for is for Pink Floyd-Omayyad. I need all of the information you can think of for this album. I need where the studio tracks come from and what year. I need the dates of the recordings. I need the live dates and venues for the live material. I also need photos/scans of the original album and the label on the LP. For those of you who provide me with information and scans, you will be credited in the book. Also, I hope you will understand that I can't talk about internal matters concerning the book.

I have found out that this same publisher also has a photo book on Brian Jones that is coming out that has a bunch of unreleased Michael Cooper images. It's called Brian Jones: Butterfly On A Wheel. You may view it and the description over at https://newgalleonbooks.com/products/br ... n-the-park

Moving this to Collector's Corner until and unless there's a general release. (And I've expanded the URLs -- don't use link shorterners, people like to know what they're clicking on.)

Hi Linda, I'm sorry about the short links. It was designed so that I wouldn't screw up by having too much to type. LOL! My computer skills are definitely on the amateur side after all of these years. I'll try to do longer ones in the future.
This is the best news I've heard in a long time. What a nice surprise after such a long spell of awful events.
I guess it doesn't pay to get too excited, as from what I can tell, this book is only being offered as a "limited signed collector's edition" - for $120! I can do without the authors' signatures, thank you (unless they want to write them on a check ), so unless there's an edition being offered for the common folk, I'll have to pass.

Some updates on this book (from the publisher's website):
The scheduled release date, which was originally supposed to be earlier this month, has now been pushed to "Fall 2021", with pre-ordering expected to begin in June. If you're so inclined, you can now order a limited edition hard cover signed version. It's a mere $11,995. I thought that might be a typo, so I messaged them, and they confirmed that price. The regular edition is still only $119.95 - exactly one one hundredth the price of the signed edition. Personally, I wouldn't pay that much for a copy of the ten commandments signed by Moses himself, but à chacun son goût.

It seems as if the confirmation I received earlier was mistaken. The website now just lists the regular $119.95 price, and the $12K option is gone. Maybe the whole idea was to make $119.95 look reasonable!! If so, it didn't really work for me. As I indicated in an earlier posting, I'd really, really love to have this book ... but definitely not at that price.

The book is now moving further along towards becoming reality. You can now see what the book will actually look like. There are also two tie-ins related to it. For now, you can still sign up to be notified when you can put in for the book. https://tmqapigstale.com . The quality of the material that is going into the printing of this book is fantastic. Producing is not cheap.

An interview with the Pig Man himself will appear in the July issue of Goldmine. This issue should hit in June. There will also be an ad for the book in it on May 10th. People should buy the book before the ad hits. Sales have been very good.

I just wanted to take a few moments to thank all of the people who have given us such a great response to the book. The publisher and the authors are grateful for all of the kind e-mails we've gotten concerning it. We are enjoying tremendous success. We're down to about 60 of them. Consider getting one before the supply runs out.
