One too few . . .
One of my favorite cereals as a kid was Trix. You see, Trix was the refreshing alternative to my other favorite, Cocoa Puffs. Trix was like a fruity version of Cocoa Puffs. Same atomic structure, same spherical shape.
But for many years -- I call them the Dark Years -- Trix became these fruit shaped things. Each piece of cereal was shaped like a different piece of fruit. That ruined the whole structure -- it was no good.
But now, tonight, I noticed they have reverted to the old school Trix. I am happy again.
Is this a recent development, or did I miss a Trix reversion in the past few years?

In 1992 Trix replaced the original round ball shape with fruit-shaped pieces. Four new fruit shapes and colors were added over the years: Grapity purple (1980-1995), Lime green (1991), Wildberry blue (1998-2006), and Watermelon (1999). In 1995, the cereal pieces were given a brighter and more colorful look. However, that the different "fruits" in the cereal between 1992 and 2006 all share the same flavor. Recently in 2007 Trix has replaced their fruit shaped pieces with the original round ball shape.

I hated those stupid kids who wouldn't let The Trix Bunny have any Trix. Same with those jerky kids who would regularly steal the Leprachaun's Lucky Charms.

The nice thing about IMWAN is, I discover that I'm not insane.
Because yes, the shift to fruit shapes was indeed ill-advised. Some might even argue evil. At the very least I can verify that the change in shape for Trix gave people cancer, so I'm very happy to see them change back to the traditional round shape.

I have in fact eaten cereal. With milk in it. No more than maybe 20 times, as a kid. I never got into it.
Trix? Never.
As an adult? A couple-two-three times a year, I have a small bowl of Grape-Nuts in milk.
Thats your problem. Your equating Grape Nut with Cereal. Cereal should be nothing but sugar in a big Giant Puff, but relabled as Honey to fool the Parents

Remember the national poll to determine whether the rabbit got to eat a box of Trix? He won, devoured his box, and then apparently couldn't get any more. Poor guy!
Mom didn't buy us a whole lot of those sugary breakfast cereals. Which probably helps to explain why I still have all my teeth and am not obese.
Something that just occurred to me. If a daytime drama is a soap opera, was an old-fashioned Saturday morning cartoon show a cereal opera?

So, both of your favorite cereals caused insanity in cartoon characters. Makes you wonder what they had in them....
