I'll have to steer even weller clear than I was going to before.

:ohyes:

He's the kiss of death for any movie he's in, IMO. He's always been a bit dodgy but the stink of Morbius is going to follow him wherever he goes, now.

I hated the way Ram-Man always kept butting in.

Unless they include Tri-Clops and Mekaneck, this film will be a travesty. :)

I was just thinking that it'll never succeed if they don't have Orko.

NO! Orko was the worst part of the cartoon series!

All the more reason to include him! Not to mention Man-E-Faces and Fisto!

I think 90% of 80s kids didn't like Orko.

All those 80s cartoons felt the need to have some little comic-relief creature roaming around. Eighties kids didn't like any of them.

But even amongst that subgroup of cartoon characters, Orko stood out as particularly loathsome.

That was pretty much true of the 60’s, and 70’s as well.
Were there any kids characters in GI Joe?

Hey, he's a hooded, faceless character with big, creepy glowing eyes. Perfect for re-imagining into a grim, assassin-type guy. The middle-aged fans'll love it!

I think Snarf might be worse, just his voice alone.

Thankfully, no. Shipwreck's parrot would occasionally give him some sass, but they never built any bits around it.

No, Snarf is great.

I mean I hated him back then but now I love him.

Not going to try to dispute that.

My buddy Greg was telling me on the phone that it's the Scooby Doo formula -- the show was such a huge hit that some elements were always copied from it in that era, hence the Super Friends with all those teen sidekicks and dogs and stuff. Cringer was Scooby Doo and Orko was the magical version of the precocious kid who gets himself in over his head.
