I don't know if anyone's interested in these, but I figured I'd post them anyway. :)
I started making my own covers to replace the covers of movies that I had picked up at conventions. The covers were mostly shit, images that looked like they were originally the size of a postage stamp blown up to fill the space of a front cover. Then I started doing them to have covers for movies acquired elsewhere.

Here's a few of my first attempts. Put together actually size in MS Paint. Looking at them now, they kinda suck. :-D

Ray Harryhausen's Sinbad movies. Probably should redo these one day.

Very nice. They look better than most of the "legit" DVD covers out there. I love reverence for old movie poster-styled graphics.

I love the old movie posters. The last few covers I've done I did just to use the old posters and replace the covers that came with the legit DVDs. Case in point:

Did this one because I liked this poster better (Italian version I believe, redid all the lettering), and I hate the snap cases the original DVD came in. Plus, Warner Bros. had a photo of a woman on the back cover from the wrong movie.

Did this one to replace the photo cover on the original DVD. Couldn't decide between the two posters I found, so I did them both. (This happens frequently.) Cheated a bit on this one, the back cover is from the UK release, I just redid the Special Features, movie credits, and tech data at the bottom to match the US release.

Those Sinbad ones are awesome - I have the DVDs and your covers are far superior.

The posters for the flicks were awesome, gave me something good to work with.

Just finished:

Of the covers I've posted so far, Horror of Dracula.

Horror of Dracula has Cushing and Lee. I want to see that!

I have seen the two Sinbad flics. I wouldn't mind seeing those again. Harryhausen makes everything a little more fun.

I have also always wanted to see Secret of the Incas, just to see the unacknowledged inspiration for Indian Jones. Is it worth it?

Horror of Dracula is a great flick. Warner Bros will be re-releasing through TCM in September in a set with three other movies. Can't find an Amazon link, but here's the announcement:

The one time I got to watch Secret of the Incas, family arrived a few minutes after it started, I'm afraid I didn't get much chance to pay attention to it. I remember some awful singing going on though.

I don't think it does the movie justice.
