Peter Parker, Spider-Man #156.1

Written by ROGER STERN
Art by ROB DE LATORRE
Cover by JOHN ROMITA, JR

There are suspicious goings-on at the old Acme Warehouse on Jamaica Bay, and the Amazing Spider-Man is determined to get to the bottom of it ... literally.
And Daily Bugle reporter Norah Winters discovers something about Peter Parker's past.

ON-SALE 8/1/2012

(FINAL ORDER CUT-OFF 7/9/2012)

That last date is the important one. Let your Friendly Neighborhood Comic Shop know that you want a copy before July 9th, or risk not finding a copy August 1st.

Sweet! Glad to see you on another Spidey book! And great to see you reunited with JRJr ... indirectly.

Weird numbering, though. Can't figure out how previous volumes add up to 156.

Beats me! It's apparently the bright idea of someone in Marketing.

Just eight days away now ...

... and look at that! Someone decided to recreate the logo with the crooked M ... that I had fixed all those decades ago.

Now that you mention it, the M does look a little crooked!

Just read this one...

Probably the best Spider-Man comic-book I have read in a very long time.

Thank you.

I read my copy tonight -- very good. I liked the way it was a rescue story. Instead of a quick fight with a super villain, it was a brush with some criminal, but the rescue of the crew was the main conflict. Plus, Peter's heroism came through so strong -- with just a couple of lines, it showed he was genuinely struck by the thought that they might have died from something he could have saved them from. I think too often stories of today forget that simple fact -- that these people put on a costume and go out because they are obsessed with saving people, with doing good. And we got a little revisit of Spider-man's origin as well.

Well done. The art was good, too.

Forgot about this one. Not picking up Spider-Man books anymore, but I'll get this one
next week. Looking forward to it.

Hope you can find a copy. Retailers seem to have overlooked the issue on their order forms. I know of one who ordered a whole two (count 'em, 2) copies, because he thought it was a reprint -- despite the solicitations telling him otherwise.

If you can't find a copy, the issue will be collected in ...

Final Order Cut-Off: September 17, 2012

As always, that Final Order Cut-Off date is the important one. Because if your LCSs don't place their orders by September 17th -- which also just happens to be my birthday -- they won't have enough copies to go around.

Hey, your birthday is two days after mine. I'm turning the big 3-5 this year. I can tell my memory's already starting to go because I was convinced I was already 35.

I very much enjoyed that Spider-Man issue, Rog. It's been a very long time since
I've purchased one. Great write-up on the last page, too. Glad that you finally got
issue #39. It's one of my favorite Spider-Man covers of all time.

The other day, I learned that his re-order was for four copies, which of course also immediately sold out.

The Final Order Cut-Off Date is now just five days away. If you're making your weekly visit to your Local Comic Store today, now would be a good time to let the manager know you want a copy.

Y'know ... so he orders more than two.
