So unlike the big Death and Return TPB they did, will this include all the crossovers?

If so, I may pick it up, even though I have all the issues. It would be a lot easier to read when I want to and fit nicely on the shelf with my Geoff Johns Titans Omnibus, which weighs in at 1400+ pages. :)

Hmmm! The new one definitely looks like it has more stuff in it. And it's oversized! Cool.

The old one is listed at 784 pages, while this one is 1124 pages. It's going on my wishlist. :)

Still think Bogs was the weak link here (he was way better on Power Pack) but overall the various artists are at the top of their games at this period in time. And of course the writing is stellar! If only the Justice League hadn't been lame poseurs at this period in time, they might have stood up to Doomsday for more than 30 seconds!

I wished for a long time back in the 90s that DC would make an Elseworlds where Superman died unable to stop Doomsday, who then continued his rampage. After Superman falls, which other heroes (and maybe even villains) step up together to stop him?

If Tom Grummett was still drawing Superman, I never would have stopped buying Superman.

+1. I did really like his work on Robin, though.

1040 Pages, actually. Unless I miscounted ...

• new cover art
• SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL #17-26
• SUPERMAN #73-82
• THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN #496-505
• ACTION COMICS #683-692
• SUPERMAN: THE LEGACY OF SUPERMAN #1
• GREEN LANTERN #46
• JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #69
• introduction originally created for the 2007 edition
• sketches that originally ran in the 2007 edition
• pin-ups and promotional art from the story that ran in the 2007 edition
• retail poster that ran in the 2007 edition
• Previews Magazine cover poster that ran in the 2007 edition
• cover of the 2007 edition
• cover of the SUPERMAN WORLD WITHOUT SUPERMAN tpb
• cover to RETURN OF SUPERMAN tpb

And here's what it looks like under the dust jacket:

Hmm...interesting that it includes the Green Lantern issue of the Return storyline and the Legacy of Superman one-shot, but leaves out the Supergirl/Team Luthor one-shot and the Funeral for a Friend issue of JLA.

Having just reread the comics a few months ago, as I recall the GL one is pretty essential to the storyline. The JLA one is full of continuity references for that title, which would only be confusing here. I don't know about the SG/TL one; I don't think I have it.

The Supergirl/Team Luthor One-Shot was more of a sidebar to the overall story ... and the special edition of NEWSTIME would have been difficult to size to the Hardcover ... and trying to add them probably would have resulted in a much higher retail price.

I think Bogs would have come across much better with different inks, as his layouts and storytelling are really powerful. But even then, there were worst artists on these books.

And yes, if Grummet did the whole thing, that would have been swell.
