Stand-up comedian John Pinette died Saturday afternoon at about 2:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel in Station Square.
A supervisor with the Allegheny County medical examiner's office said Mr. Pinette had been suffering liver and heart disease. Examiners did not perform an autopsy, as Mr. Pinette’s personal doctor signed off on his cause of death.
I was gonna see him right here at Westbury but the show was canceled due to his poor health (rescheduled for June). Damn me and the wife really liked his comedy. "get on the back of the line" Loved his observations of people deciding what to eat at McDonalds. Drives me nuts when people can't decide what to eat, it's food, it's all good.

Oh yeah. I never liked that verdict. Seemed unjust. And the string of people who testified not to the incident but to the fact they didn't like those guys (when they were hardly upstanding citizens themselves) seemed inadmissible. I didn't understand the reason why Jerry and his friends should have been legally compelled to help that guy (even just by taking out their phones and calling for help) since the robber had a gun (or seemed to) and if he saw them, he might shoot them to stop them from calling for help. What kind of law compels you to risk your life for somebody else's property?
Oh sure, it was just an excuse to parade through a lot of past, memorable bits and characters, but it never sit well with me, them going to jail for a year.
