works but what is the "thing" just about half way up his arm, can't make it out, also it's distracting to the eye.

But if I juxtapose both images, I'm not so sure.   Also, I would keep the web strand in the original.

It's such a cliche pose. I should have listened to my teeny inner voice about the gun. I certainly would have drawn another figure and built around that. Impossible now without drawing the whole thing again. I actually broke down and tried it.
Feh.
So I guess I'm stuck with it.

Naw, I can't unsee it now. If it's not looking like a cane, it's looking like a whip or a candycane. It's out. I'm going with Hector saying the figure is fine. I'm going to cling to that.
