And 2016 continues to pain me From her Facebook page- We are deeply saddened to announce Sharon Jones passed away today after a heroic battle against pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones, including the Dap-Kings. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts during this difficult time. I know. I lost my best friend to cancer 6 years ago. And with all great friends, we shared so much music, including falling for Sharon Jones together and seeing her many times.

RIP.
And condolences, Rick and Dean. F*ck cancer. A friend of mine lost his wife to it this year. I'm sure we've all known too many people who've been affected, and even if it's cured, it casts a long shadow.
So sick of 2016...

Thanks Alan. It's been awhile (years wise) but as you said the "shadow" is long & at times very dark.
