There was a recent discussion in Here and Gone about people's Criterion Collection collections, and Linda suggested we start a new thread here if we wanted to continue - so I thought I would start one. I only recently started picking them up, and so far I have:

Kiss Me Deadly
Rushmore
The Royal Tenenbaums
The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou
The Darjeeling Limited
Bottle Rocket
Moonrise Kingdom
Eating Raoul
In Cold Blood
Lord of the Flies
True Stories
Inside Llewyn Davis
Blood Simple
Videodrome
Blow Out
The Silence of the Lambs
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Game
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Spartacus
Paths Of Glory
Dr. Strangelove, or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
The Killing
Barry Lyndon
Dazed and Confused
Eraserhead
Mulholland Dr.
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me
Elevator to the Gallows
Beyond the Valley of the Dolls
Don't Look Back
Beastie Boys Video Anthology
Chasing Amy
Traffic
RoboCop
The Blob

from the Merchant Ivory Collection
Savages

There is at least that many again in my wishlist. A few of the titles above I picked up because I found them for a dollar or two, so I felt they were worth a blind buy. Even if I don't enjoy the films, the extras usually give me plenty to enjoy or think about. And some of these are among my favorite films of all time.

Huh. I could've sworn I had several Criterion discs, but it turns out I only have Seven Samurai (Bluray) and Chasing Amy (DVD).

Only one I have is a beloved horror flick from the late 60s/early 70s and that is Equinox.

It was my idea in the now deleted sale thread, so I'm grateful to see it again here. I'll list my (quite small by comparison) collection here.

In the approximate order of which I acquired them:

Vampyr (DVD)
Following (DVD)
Godzilla (DVD)
A Night to Remember (DVD)
Rosemary's Baby (Blu)
The Uninvited (Blu)
Diabolique (Blu)
Eyes Without a Face (Blu)
Night of the Living Dead (DVD)
Carnival of Souls (Blu)
M (DVD)
Blood Simple (Blu)
Picnic at Hanging Rock (Blu)
Brazil (Blu)

Next on my "to acquire" list will be Laughton's "Night of the Hunter".

I didn't even know there was a Criterion edition of This Is Spinal Tap! I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

Criterion June releases announced:

A Film Trilogy by Ingmar Bergman
Release date = June 4
Blu-ray upgrade of a previously available DVD set. Contains the films "Through a Glass Darkly," "Winter Light" and "The Silence." Highly recommended for those who might have interest in Bergman but don't want to spring for the big Ingmar Bergman's Cinema box set. I'm not a big fan of the film "The Silence." But "Through a Glass Darkly" is my favorite Bergman film, and "Winter Light" isn't far behind (probably in my top five of Bergman films).

Swing Time (1936)
Release date = June 11
Director: George Stevens
Stars: Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers

L'humanite (1999)
Release date = June 18
Director: Bruno Dumont
Stars: Emmanuel Schotte

La vie de Jesus (1997)
Release date = June 18
Director: Bruno Dumont
Stars: David Douche

Hedwig and the Angry Itch (2001)
Release date = June 25
Director: John Cameron Mitchell
Stars: John Cameron Mitchell

War and Peace (1966)
Release date = June 25
Director: Sergei Bondarchuk

I think War and Peace is the only no-brainer purchase for me. I've been waiting for this epic for a long time. 422 minutes, I think it was the most expensive film ever produced in the Soviet Union.

Here are the titles for March release:
March 12
The Kid Brother (1927) (Ted Wilde/ Harold Lloyd)
The Magic Flute (1975) (Ingmar Bergman)

March 19
Detour (1945) (Edgar G. Ulmer)
Wanda (1970) (Barbara Loden)

March 26
I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1978) (Robert Zemeckis)
Japon (2002) (Carlos Reygadas)

Really want Detour, which looks like a great noir.
