I've never seen any of these. Not being a parent I've never had a reason (excuse?) to watch this stuff.

Being a kid once is enough reason.

All the Toy Story’s are great but the first one looks dated because the technology on the humans wasn’t there yet. I just wish this was being released on Fathers Day not next week. It’s always been a tradition in our family to see a Pixar movie on Dad day.

I've never seen the Lion King because it came out when I had no kids.

I was telling my teenagers the other day -- "You guys are all grown. What excuse am I going to come up with to see Toy Story 4?"

It feels that way. I've not seen any of this stuff - not Aladdin, Lion King, none of it. I've seen The Incredibles (the first one) because it was a superhero one, but that's it.

I've been far more interested in the two 'Fantastic Beasts' movies than in any of the MCU stuff which really surprises me. I don't care about most of those. I liked Dr. Strange a lot but if the rest ever get shown on free to air TV I'll watch them. I'm not that excited to see them. I suppose it may be partly because I'm not overly familiar with the 'Wizardverse' Rowling's created, having never read the Harry Potter books. It's a new thing and therefore a novelty. They're still written for kids, and it shows, but the fact that the 'Fantastic Beasts' ones are set between the first and second world wars was the drawcard for me. I like that era, and even if Rowling's take on it is fantasy based it still interests me.

Also - fantastic beasts. You can't go wrong.

One of my major "JBF moments" (scrapes) was arguing over whether Cars was aimed primarily at kids. I don't see how someone could view it any other way, but when I was adulting without kids, I never gave such movies a moments thought. To each his own.

The funny thing is as far as these "kids" movies go, I had to sit through all of them when my kids were small but now that they've grown up, not so much. Now I can be choosy and a PIXAR movie is always worth a day at the movies.

One fella who didn't have kids but never missed any kids movie was Jimbo. It was his second favorite genre next to ghost/ horror movies. Always made me laugh thinking about him sitting surrounded by families and kids watching How To Train Your Dragon #?. :D

That argument was classic.

Is that the one where Jaybee was critiquing Cars as if it were some sort of in-depth sociopolitical narrative, or the one where he said that the Cars shouldn't have doors since they didn't have drivers? Or was that the same thread?

I don't know, I just remember I said "you haven't lived until..." and he flipped out, I said it was a figure of speech, and he said it was not a figure of speech, that "bee's knees" was a figure of speech.

Cars was pretty good. Now, that my kids are older I don't see the "kids" movies but I do go as the MCU movies and love them.
