Tribute to Alexis Korner (died 1984-01-01).

Alexis Light Orchestra was a supergroup formed for a tribute concert on June 5th, 1984 at the Palais Ballroom in Nottingham, England.

Originally recorded for radio broadcast, but now available on CD.

19 songs and not a single zeppelin song, not even a blues cover by zeppelin.......

unless of course, and i have no idea as to the answer to this, was every song written by alexis korner? then it makes sense.

This seems interesting. I assume the blues-heavy setlist reflects the tastes of the man being honored by the concert.

There is one track led zeppelin did Bring It On Home

I suspect they were all recorded by Korner. One very long career (& he discovered Robert Plant).

Hey Geff - Korner was already dead when the show happened and this was a tribute concert to him - I figured this one for more of a grey area release, as Page usually has a hissy fit when things like this get released. unless, of course this was to benefit Korner’s family.

Angel Air's releases are all licensed, but that hasn't stopped Jimmy Page from sending in lawyers before. Probably best to order this CD sooner rather than later.
