Posted tonight on the Holdsworth family page:

FINALLY.
With the gracious blessing of the Holdsworth family, permission has been given for the sharing of Allan Holdsworth's 2016 Pledgemusic project, "Tales From the Vault" (2016).
Originally intended as crowdfunded project to finance the completion of several album tracks (recorded in the preceding years with various touring trios), various circumstances prevented much progress in any kind of timely manner.
Eventually fearful of disappointing his supporters by making them continue to wait indefinitely, Allan decided to release "Tales From the Vault", a collection of unreleased solo tracks, alternate mixes and demos (assembled with the aid of engineer Robert Feist).
One new recording was released as part of the "Tales" project. This was the track "Earth", a Virgil Donati composition. Virgil intends to release "Earth" on his own platform, so for now that track is not included in this folder.
An analysis of this album is in my recent Holdsworth book (Devil Take the Hindmost: The Otherworldly Music of Allan Holdsworth, 2020) as well as in the blog version of the book (
