I really enjoyed these two tracks, especially the title song. I wonder if this will eventually come out on CD.
Yes, I really like the title song. I posted the track "We Go Way Back" because I read an article that said it was the best track. ( "We Go Way Back" isn't bad. It's just that out of the 5, it's the least Bacharach - like track.) After listening to all 5 I think it is the weakest track of the 5. I'm hoping for a CD release too. Here's another good one, "Bells of St. Augustine"

Thanks for posting the two additional tracks. Lovely stuff. And, of these four, "We Go Way Back" is my least favorite. I'm not familiar with Daniel Tashian, but like his voice a lot of these.

Finally got around to listening to all five songs today. A really lovely little collection! I wasn't familiar with Daniel Tashian before this; can anyone recommend any of his previous work? Thanks!

Daniel Tashian really has been a songwriter and producer more than a performer. Recently, he co-produced Kacey Musgraves’ critically acclaimed album Golden Hour in addition to co-writing 7 of the album’s 13 songs, including “Slow Burn,” “Happy and Sad,” “Love is a Wild Thing,” and the album’s title track, “Golden Hour.” Tashian has received two Grammys, one ACM award, and one CMA award for his work on the album. Other production credits include Tenille Townes’s Living Room Worktapes EP, Jessie James Decker’s On This Holiday album, and work for artists including A Girl Called Eddy, Trent Dabbs, Emily West, Lily & Madeleine, Lissie, and Sad Penny.
Other than that his most recent work is a children's album: Tashian's latest project, a children's album for which he has written and produced all the music, as well as painted pieces for all album and single art associated with the release, is available as of May 3, 2019. In July 2020, Tashian collaborated with Burt Bacharach on the EP 'Blue Umbrella'.
By the way, there is a CD of "Blue Umbrella" now available. It's kind of expensive for an ep, but it's available at Amazon (out of stock at the moment).

Thanks for the information about Daniel Tashian, Ericsen, and the heads-up about the Blue Umbrella CD!
Sorry, I didn't have any Daniel Tashian to recommend. I was wondering if you have heard the 2005 album "At this Time" by Burt Bacharach? I really enjoyed it. It was a collaboration with younger contemporaries with those sophisticated Bacharach melodies. It's mostly instrumentals, with a few guest vocals from Rufus Wainwright and Elvis Costello.

Thanks for those sample...really enjoyed them! Might have to pick up this collection. In the meantime, I've been listening a lot to "Blue Umbrella"...just wish there were more tracks of that!

Daniel Tashian released a solo album called Sweetie in 1996. I liked it a lot back then, but I haven't listened to it lately. It got a good review in No Depression and was loosely grouped with alt country at the time, but I'm not sure it fit comfortably in that category. T-Bone Burnett produced the album. Sounds nothing like his Bacharach collaboration. Good songwriting, as I remember. Worth picking up if you can find it used for a couple bucks.
He's Barry Tashian's son, btw -- Barry of Barry and the Remains from the '60s. Barry also played in Emmylou Harris' band for a while.

Actually, I have discovered Daniel Tashian has been in a band (The Silver Seas) since the early 2000's and they have 5 albums.
The Silver Seas, formerly the Bees, are a pop-rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, that formed when producer-musician Jason Lehning met singer-songwriter Daniel Tashian, son of Barry and Holly Tashian.
I have ordered one of their CDs that I found on ebay. It's the Château Revenge! Blue Edition. It's an unplugged version of the regular Château Revenge! album. I heard some clips and liked that version. It should be arriving any day now.
The latest, Moonlight Road is pretty good too. It's available to listen to on Prime Music.
Here is their discography: Starry Gazey Pie (2004) High Society (2006) Château Revenge! (2010) Alaska (2013) Moonlight Road (2018)

Same here!
I found a 7-digital track collection of songs by Daniel Tashian on Amazon called, "Some Other Country," which I've been enjoying very much. Sort of a quiet, polished folk, slightly country sound. Just find his voice so smooth and easy to listen to.

My copy of Chateau Revenge! by the Silver Seas arrived the other day. Great stuff, even better than High Society. Highly recommended. There are two versions of this album, a "blue" one that is apparently a re-recording in a simpler, more acoustic style, and the more produced "red" version. I have the blue one, but I've ordered the red.
Tashian has a nice voice and writes really well. Beautiful pop songs. Easy to see why he would work well with Burt Bacharach.
