I felt this was the best version of Captain Marvel / Shazam since DC took over the characters.

I will have to get the first volume and this because Cap was still Cap...even in the 90s.

Agreed. I was sorry to lose Jerry Ordway off the Superman books until I bought The Power of Shazam GN in 1994, and then the ongoing series after it. It was the best version.
