With free agency about to begin, time to start a new thread.
And I will applaud Jason Kelce for everything he did for football and Philly.
A stone cold lock for the Hall of Fame, it was such an honor watching a 6th round pick who was a converted college RB become one of the best centers in the history of professional football.
Not surprisingly, his retirement speech was incredibly emotional and why he had his ankles wrapped for the press conference was so touching, it tells you all you need to know about the man.

I can’t believe anyone would trade anything for Mac Jones, but the Jags did it.
Makes little sense to me either...
Two More QB spots off the board;
Baker gets $100 million over 3 to play stay in Tampa (solid B signing for the team, happy for him) Apparently we're find out if Russ can still cook. Off the Steelers details to be released overnight i expect

i think i have become a baker mayfield fan!

One year, $1.2M.
Don't forget that sweet guaranteed $38mil the Broncos will be paying him.
Yep - they talked about it on Bob & Tom this morning and said when the Broncos and Steelers play this year, the highest paid player for the Broncos will be on the Steelers.
It'll be curious to see where Mason Rudolph ends up now.

That didn’t take long! I thought Wilson might have to wait a while to find a landing spot, but I was wrong. He’s headed to Pittsburgh on a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum ($1.2 million), according to ESPN. There are two very different questions to address here. One, is this a reasonable flier to take for the Steelers? The answer there is yes because of what Wilson is costing them. It’s a low-risk move. If they don’t like what they see from Wilson as a starter, they can make him the backup, and it’s still great value.
The second question is: Does Wilson provide a big enough upgrade at quarterback from Kenny Pickett/Mason Rudolph to make the team significantly better than last season? I’m skeptical. Wilson is entering his age-36 season. Quarterbacks don’t gain athleticism at this stage of their career, and we know he’s going to take a lot of sacks. There are schematic limitations, because Wilson is not going to consistently attack the middle of the field in the passing game. And Sean Payton decided after one season that he had no use for Wilson. That’s a lot to get over.
The Steelers’ plan for 2024 seems straightforward: win with defense and special teams, and lean on the run game and play-action with Wilson. He still throws a beautiful deep ball, and he should be an upgrade over Pickett. Wilson ranked 22nd in dropback success rate last year, while Pickett was 29th. The Steelers will be well-coached under Mike Tomlin, and I like this roster overall. But where does Wilson really get them? This looks like a competitive team with a low ceiling. I would have liked to have seen them take a bigger swing on a quarterback with more upside.
Kirk Cousins agrees to four-year, $180M contract with Atlanta Falcons
Kirk Cousins' six-year run in Minneapolis is over.
The veteran quarterback has agreed to a four-year, $180 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported.
Cousins' deal includes a $50 million signing bonus and $90 million guaranteed over the next two seasons with an additional $10 million guaranteed in 2026 for a whopping $100 million total in guarantees, per Pelissero.
I'm kind of surprised at some of the guys the Seahawks let walk, but also kind of surprised at the deals some of them got elsewhere. I mean, Dissly was a crowd favorite because he was a Husky, but he and Parkinson didn't exactly set the world on fire with their stats.
He’s a very good QB who cannot win any games of consequence.
Don’t see that changing in Atlanta, but there’s enough talent there for sure for him to make a difference.
Not arguing with you my friend, but need to point out that those years in Minnesota shouldn't count against him. If the Vikings would have drafted Tom Brady, he wouldn't have won any games of consequence because he would have been a Viking.
The Giants made a big trade for Panthers Edge Brian Burns, giving up a 2 in 2024 and a 5 in 2025. They also signed RB Devon Singletary, guard John Runyon, Jr and OL Jermaine Eluemunor. Burns got an extension.

I’m glad for Mayfield.
What did he make, maybe $8 million last year (not sure)?
And now he’s got $50 million guaranteed and $100 million possible for three years and the Bucs kept Evans.
I like Cousins more than most people, but the amount of money he's made over his career is staggering. He's being paid like he's a franchise changer a la Brady / Manning, but he feels more like a Carson Palmer or Alex Smith. He's solid and good, but you need a very good team around them if you want a chance to win a title.
Major move that had been telegraphed by the Eagles for a while now.
Letting Swift go made sense as he was unimpressive last year and he signed with Chicago.
I’m good with it know that the Eagles have an actual offensive coordinator.
I think that if he can stay healthy, he's a real game changer at that position. He's the kind of back who can turn a five yard run into a 10+ yard run.
