Very good price on Amazon Canada right now- about 35% cheaper than the US price. That's counter to most of their pricing these days.

Some info I found on a Genesis fan site:

The long-awaited box set for The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway will be released on 28 March 2025. An announcement will probably follow on Friday.

There have been rumours for some time about a possible box set to mark the 50th anniversary of the Genesis album The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, which was first released on 22 November 1974.
At the latest since a mention in Record Collector this summer, it was clear that these rumours were true. There was some surprise that no official announcement followed until today.

Yesterday, however, a teaser image was posted on the official Genesis social media channels, hinting at an imminent announcement (see below). We have also learned from a reliable source that the box set will be released on 28 March 2025. We assume that the announcement will follow on Friday, the 50th anniversary of the album release.

The set will include: The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway remastered from the original 1974 tapes (2LPs or 2 CDs)
The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway Live At The Shrine Auditorium full live show from January 24th, 1975, including the two encore tracks for the very first time, “Watcher of the Skies/The Musical Box (3LPs or 2CDs).

A Blu-ray audio disc with Dolby ATMOS and Hi Res mixes of the album, along with other select visual images
Select Demos and Outtakes From Headley Grange (part of a digital download card with the full audio from the set)
A coffee table style book with Alexis Petridis liner notes, telling the story of The Lamb from the writing sessions to live performances, including band member commentary. The book will also feature images from Armando Gallo and other noted photographers, memorabilia and a 1975 Tour Programme reproduction

What we know about the format:
There will be at least two formats. We know for sure that there will be a vinyl boxset (5LP/Blu-ray - price around 200€) and a CD boxset (4CD/Blu-ray, price around 100€). The format prices are approximate values that were communicated as part of a sales sheet.

There has been much speculation recently about the content. There have been hints from the record company and Tony Banks has also mentioned a few details in interviews, although he has remained very vague.

The missing multitrack recordings of the show at the Shrine Auditorium Los Angeles have also been found. This recording contains it, as well as the encores. This show was already used for the Archive 1967-1975 box set. However, several overdubs were recorded for this release. This applied in particular to the vocals.

The last song on the album (it) was actually a kind of new studio version, as the available tapes did not contain this track also also not the Encores. So it will be interesting to see what this famous LA show will be like on the new boxset.

What's on the Blu-ray?

Dolby Atmos and Stereo Mix.

Are there any other extras?

Yes, selected visual extras, plus Select Demos and Outtakes From Headley Grange (part of a digital download card with the full audio from the set).

A coffee table style book with Alexis Petridis liner notes, telling the story of The Lamb from the writing sessions to live performances, including band member commentary. The book will also feature images from Armando Gallo and other noted photographers, memorabilia and a 1975 Tour Programme reproduction

Not a whole lot worthwhile here. I have the original U.K. and U.S. CDs and they sound fine. I almost wish it contained the remix from years back because I never bothered to pick it up so at least it would be new to me!
I already have the Archive 1967-1975 box set, so I already have Live At The Shrine Auditorium full live show from January 24th, 1975, though since they found the multi-tracks this should be a sonic upgrade, as well as adding the missing encores. But then they had to add new overdubs, including the vocals. That doesn't fill me with confidence. Just leave them alone. They just can't seem to help themselves.
And then it sounds like the Select Demos and Outtakes From Headley Grange are only available on the Blu-ray, and in expanded form as downloads. If I buy a physical box, I want the music in physical form.

I know this is just advance leaked info, and may be wrong, so I hope when we get the official solicitation it's a little better release than this.

The optical edition (the one we have in the first post) is showing at Amazon as "five CDs", not four, along with the Blu-ray. So it's possible we'll get all the tracks on physical discs, and the download is only for the vinyl box.

WAN can hope, but I'm in regardless for the Atmos mix.

I hope you are correct, that would be nice.
I don't do surround at all, but I pick up any Atmos, surround or Quad versions of releases I am interested in to future-proof myself in case I ever bother to research what equipment I would need to listen to them. I'm just too lazy to investigate. I sold stereo equipment for 25 years and totally lost interest in specs and gear. I love listening to music. The technical aspect bores me now.

Those vocal overdubs and new guitar parts were used on the Archive box set in 1998, not this edition as they have now found the multi track tapes.

Am I the only one around here who doesn't rate The Lamb... as highly as the other Gabriel-era albums? Sure, it's got a ton of great songs and the musicianship is fantastic, but overall it doesn't hit me like Foxtrot, Nursery Cryme or Selling England By The Pound, and maybe even Trespass. I'll still probably jump on this release if the price comes down to a reasonable level, if only for the complete concert (with original vocals) and the new Atmos mix. Does anyone know who did that mix?

You're not the only one, same for me, I was playing Lamb this morning to see if my opinion had changed.
(Even posted about it on the "What are you listening to" thread: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=46554&start=30008 )
I think Gabriel vs the rest of the band were trying to accomplish very different things and it's just a thick, dense sound that never quite comes together. I will keep playing it for the next few days.

These days it’s my early Genesis go to if I’m playing one of their albums. Not played out on radio or in concert. Yeah it meanders in sections but overall to me is very powerful.

I’m in for this one!

Whew, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I still really like the album, but I wholeheartedly agree with your description and that's why it doesn't have the same impact on me as the other Gabriel-era albums. One of the things I enjoyed whenever I've played the 5.1 mix on the DVD was the films they projected during the tour for the album. That was a nice touch, and I hope they include those on the upcoming blu-ray.

I'm hoping they're the "selected visual extras" said to be included from the quote Invisible Pedestrian posted.

Nope.

While I like a lot of the music, I find the narrative bizarre, disturbing, pretentious and nonsensical and it’s a rough slog for me.

That being said, I’ll get this is the price comes down.

My favorite Gabriel-era albums are Foxtrot and Selling England By The Pound, though I do like the others aside from the lousy debut.

But my favorite is A Trick Of The Tail and everything that followed.

The official label description is now in the first post -- it is actually a 4CD/1BD set.
