THE ORIGIN OF SISTER IMPERATOR IS REVEALED 11/22/2024 9:00am GHOST visionary Tobias Forge sheds light on the hidden past of an enigmatic figure in a new comic miniseries
Together with Tobias Forge, founder and mastermind of global theatrical rock phenomenon GHOST, Dark Horse Comics presents Sister Imperator, a comic miniseries that pulls back the curtain of mystery on an influential figure from official GHOST lore. Writer Corinna Bechko (Avatar: Adapt or Die) joins Forge in writing, along with artist Puste (The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries), colorist Thiago Rocha (Kill All Immortals) and Comicraft’s Jimmy Betancourt (Ghostbusters: Back in Town), to tell the hidden history of the woman who became the force behind Ghost. Featuring cover art by Mikael Eriksson, this four-part miniseries will begin in March 2025.
"As a fan of Ghost, working with Tobias to bring his vision of Sister Imperator's story to life was a dream come true,” says Bechko. “Her history is rich, tragic, and brutal in ways that transcend what people might think they know about her character. The team at Dark Horse has really put together something special here, and I know the art is going to blow everyone's mind. I've had the honor of writing a lot of amazing women, from Vampirella to Wonder Woman, but I've never written a character more kickass than Sister Imperator. Working on this project has been an unparalleled privilege and I can't wait for the world to see the result!"
"Working on Sister Imperator has been an incredible journey,” agrees Puste. “Bringing Tobias’s vision to life has been both a challenge and an honor, with so much rich documentation that adds depth and atmosphere to the story. Sister Imperator herself is such a fascinating and terrifying character, and I know fans are going to love her. With the support of an amazing team, a killer script, and the backing of Dark Horse and Ghost, this has truly been a dream project. I can’t wait for fans of the band and comics alike to dive into this dark, atmospheric, and thrilling story!"
In Sister Imperator:
A figure shrouded in mystery, Sister Imperator didn’t begin her life as the revered representative of the Clergy and behind the scenes overseer of GHOST’s dark machinations. The gruesome events that led her to become loved and feared by so many began in small-town New England, leading her down a winding path of violence and vindication, are finally revealed.
GHOST’s award-winning discography and the enthralling spectacle of the band’s live rituals have amassed legions of devout followers numbering in the millions. The most recent GHOST full length studio album IMPERA won the American Music Award for Favorite Rock Album in 2022 and the iHeartRadio Best Rock Album in 2023. GHOST’s first-ever feature-length film “Rite Here, Rite Now” broke box office records upon its June 2024 theatrical release, and was followed by the announcement of a massive 2025 global arena tour. And now, the world will discover the truth behind the mysterious Sister and her integral role she’s played in GHOST mythology since year zero.
Discover the truth behind one of the most powerful figures in the Ghost mythos with Sister Imperator #1 (of 4), which arrives in comic shops on March 5, 2025, for $4.99.

Swedish occult metallers GHOST have announced that there will be a new character fronting the band for its 2025 touring cycle: Papa V Perpetua.
Papa V Perpetua's name was listed as one of the performers for BLACK SABBATH's final concert, set to take place on July 5 at Villa Park in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
GHOST also confirmed the singer's participation in a social media update, writing: "We wish to inform you V is coming… To Birmingham on July 5th."
Did anyone here buy the Rite Here Rite Now Blu-ray or DVD? If so, how's the quality? I have read some comments about the audio track being poor, but I'm not sure the people who wrote those comments know what they're talking about. Hoping to hear more educated opinions here.

Ghost will be unveiling Papa V Perpetua this Wednesday, March 5th at 12:00 a.m. EST. Not exactly sure what this is going to be: a new web-lore video or perhaps a new song?
Also the band is currently offering a limited edition vinyl on their website (no mention of a cd release). Once again, they’re being very cryptic about whether it’s new music, or a limited edition of a previous release.
Here’s what they say.
Quote:
Blasphemy! Heresy! Mystery!
Behold a mysterious masterpiece of three different themes, but you do not get to choose which one you will receive. Only the faithful will be rewarded and only fate will decide where you will land on the spinning wheel. Only 6,000 created between all three, take your chance.. what will it be?
Limited Edition Vinyl - 6,000 worldwide Artwork is randomized in varying editions Limited to 3 units per customer One time pressing Tracklisting to be revealed....
The price is $45.00. Ships Spring 2025.
New music?
Or perhaps a vinyl pressing of the digital-only greatest-hits compilation that was previously released?
Coincidentally (or perhaps not? Maybe this is part of Papa V Perpetua's story) the first issue of the Sister Imperator comic I posted about four posts upthread is being released on Wednesday as well. Here are the rest of the covers for the 4 issue series. Shock! Drama! Who is the father?!?
What the heck is going on here????

The Rite Here Rite Now Popcorn Bucket & 20 oz Tumbler that were sold in theaters during the film's theatrical release are currently available, and on sale thru the band's website. Our theater had the popcorn buckets, but not the tumblers.
Have you seen them before, John? They put on a great show.
I was actually privileged to see them up close at a club near us in 2016 with my son back when they weren’t big yet. So we stood feet away from them (photo above).
It was a funny show as Papa with his accent talked about the town we were in Huntington LI, they way he pronounced Huntington.
As the years went by they were the opening act for Iron Maiden (saw them at Brooklyn’s Barclays) and now finally headline.

I decided to drop by the local comics & games store earlier this week. I was surprised to find they had a single issue of “Sister Imperator” #1 (especially since it was released back in March). Of course, I had to snag it. I also recently found the issue of “Horror Hound” with Ghost on the cover, and picked that one up as well. Never saw the Metal Hammer issue though.
I haven't grabbed any of the comics - kind of got away from it once the one store I visited semi-regularly moved. Kept up w/mail subs for a bit, but gave up on that. Going to wait for a compilation of the Ghost comics.

I should add here that GHOST at MSG this past week was just awesome! Stunning sound and visuals, a perfect metal concert. I have been a fan since 2015 and saw them on a much smaller stage back in 2016 and they were good then, now? just wow! This was a DO NOT MISS concert on top of celebrating Ozzy's life on the same day as his death.
Played all my favorites including one of my favorites Darkness At The Heart Of My Love. The only song I also would have liked to have heard is Life Eternal but we can't have everything.
Grabbed my tickets last minute and saved a ton of $$$. Thank you SeatGeek. This show was unusual in that no phones were allowed to be on (they put them in a locked bag) so we all had paper tickets. Imagine that? Old school. Kinda nice not to have everyone with a damn phone out.

The Target website is showing an upcoming “tiny vinyl” release of “Lachryma” backed with “Mary On A Cross”, to be released on Sept 26th. This is a Target exclusive. I hadn’t heard of tiny vinyls, but it’s basically a 4” vinyl single, with one song on each side. May be of interest if anyone’s a collector / completist, just for the novelty.
(The website also shows tiny vinyl releases by other artists as well).
Not sure if these are carried in stores, or just sold through the website.
