Just heard this and it's a big loss for me. Saw Supertramp when they appeared at MSG for the Breakfast In America Tour and I was so proud that finally they had made the big time (they announced that from the stage that night how happy they were). That album is a stone cold classic that's played every day on radio.
I've always said to anyone who would listen that the band was leaving millions on the table with their breakup, so sad that Rick and Roger could not get along. There isn't even any tribute bands out there.
Now I wonder who gets the name Supertramp and will they try and revamp somehow? May be too late now.
My favorite album by them is actually Even In The Quietest Moments.
RIP Rick

Probably not so much these days, but if they had done it 20+ years ago, I think it would've been a huge thing.
I had the pleasure of seeing them in concert while on leave in 1983 (Roger's last tour).

I did finally see Roger live solo here on LI a few years ago and he was fabulous. Never did see Rick solo but he did seem to be a hermit in the past 20 years.
