Well what are they? :D

Here's one from me:

She-Hulk: This is a fantastic comedy comic (but with some nice character moments in there). Basically it tracks She-Hulk's progress when she joins a law firm that deals in superhero cases. A great cast rounds this out - I want an Andy Special!

Some current recommends from my list:

Usagi Yojimbo or the Goon from Dark Horse are usually good reads.

PAD's new Madrox mini had a nice first issue. The first part of a multi part story and I never got that feeling of 'decompressed'(almost wrote padded) storytelling. That alone impressed me.

I've been recommending Patty Cake (from Slave Labor Comics) for years now and still I don't know anybody else that buys it. It is a great quarterly book. The $4.95 price tag may scare some people off, but you get 48 pages of comics. The only way I can think to discribe it is "Pete Bagge and Charles Schulz team-up", but Patty Cake is so much better than that.

For those of you willing to tread into the mini-comic world I would check out anything done by Dan Zettwoch. Special favorites are Iron Clad and Redbird #1. Also worth a look is L. Pien's Long Tail Kitty comics. If you don't have a LCS that carries these kinds of books just head over to http://www.usscatastrophe.com

LOSERS (Vertigo/DC): if you like action movies then this comics is for you. An ex team of CIA specialists are betrayed and decide to go underground and fight back against corrupt government elements (think of it as a modern day better written A team). TONS of action, cool plots, smart dialogue and lots of fun. Its the best action movie that we do not see anymore on screen! One of my favorite reads every month.

Issue 16 comes out soon and its the beginning of a new 4 part arc. Issue 15 was a one shot story with art by Ale Garza. the firts trade reprints issues 1-6 and is only priced at 9.95$ Check it out people Andy Diggle is an up and comer in the DCU/vertigo universes.

Better luck next time.

Coming late to the party as usual, I'd have to say ditto on The Losers and am looking forward to Andy Diggle's Adam Strange mini. DC has tasked him with revitalizing the DC sci-fi universe, so if that series is anything approaching the quality of the Swamp Thing and Losers stuff, it should deinitely be worth checking out.

Though it's several months too late, I cannot recommend the two Wildcats 3.0 trades highly enough. I don't remember a series that gripped me with such consummate storytelling right from the first issue. The formerly lame Jim Lee X-Men clones have been completely reinvented -- and the spy comic genre with along with it -- in this brilliant tale of corporate espionage, with only a few superhero trappings thrown in. I don't think I've read anything by Alan Moore or Frank Miller that matches the assurance of these two trades. Though the book was cancelled for low sales back in April, there's still 12 issues that haven't been collected in trades and maybe never will, and which I'm desperately trying to track down in individual issues. If you like Alias, you'll no doubt love this. Utterly unlike anything in comics I've ever read. Wildstorm. Joe Casey. Dustin Nguyen.

Great book. Brubaker and Rucka are writing solid stories and Michal Lark's art is a perfect look for the book. A very enjoyable read.
